I know that canceling an open card can adversely affect credit. But I canceled the actual application process, minutes after I applied.

I had hoped to get instant approval to get a big discount on an airline ticket, but as a student and my little income they would have had to do a full background credit check (which would have gotten me the card), but I didn't have time to wait to buy the ticket, so I wanted to cancel.

I owe about 00 to Discover Card. They've dipped into my checking account and cleaned it out before. If I buy a 00 car can they take that from me? I need wheels - and these 0 cars keep breaking down... help!

I want to buy my first car but I have bad credit from cards I got back in highschool that i never got around to paying. I want to get a decent car, I would be ok with like a 02' Honda Accord or somthing like that. Will I need a co-signer or will anyone finnance me with my bad credit?

I know in Feb. 2010 a credit card act will restrict anyone under 21 for a credit card unless they have a co-signer. If I already have a credit card, then would this act still apply to me?

I already know it's bad. What I need is info on how many credit score points it takes off. Also, if you buy a second car before the repo and pay it on time, will that help offset the repo? A buddy is in a really bad car loan with an aging car and walking away from the loan is probably his only shot at getting out from under it anytime soon. People have told him to walk away from the bad loan and start fresh and keep the rest of his credit squeaky clean and he'll be okay.

My Fico score is usually around 745, now for some reason it jumped up to 774 this month.

I want to buy a new car, should I rush out and buy one this month in case it goes down again next month?

Or not worry?

Is there a big difference between 774 and 745?
When I said I want to buy one, I meant I have been planning on buying a car for a while.

I am looking at my recent activity on my online account for my Discover credit card. I used the card to buy gasoline for my car yesterday (a Sunday). It has now been about 24 hours, but this transaction is not appearing on my recent activity list. Why is this? Did the payment not go through? I paid at the pump using my card...
