Does it affect your credit score if you request a credit report just for your information?

I know it affects your credit score negatively everytime you APPLY for something (car, loan, credit card) and they check your credit report to see if you qualify and you end up not qualifying.

But does it affect your credit score if you request your own credit report just FOR YOUR INFORMATION, to make sure everything is accurate? I know it costs you money, but does it affect your credit score?

If you request it directly from the CRA (rather than through a company), it will not affect your score at all. You can pull it through a CRA a million times, and although you will see the inquiry, no one else will, and it has nothing to do with your score.

It does not affect your credit score if you are viewing it. UNLESS you go to a bank and ask them to do it.

Go to annualcreditreport.com and get it there.

I am 100% certain that checking your own credit doesn’t hurt your credit score. It’s a law in the FCRA. (Fair Credit Reporting Act)

No it does not affect your score, only when you apply for credit.
I order a credit report every six months and it didn’t affect my score at all.

Nope. Only if you’ve applied for credit and there are inquiries from the potential creditor.

    No.
