Does a bad credit report rating in one country affect the crediting in another country?

If someone has let's say a bad credit history in Canada, could this somehow affect the credit rating in the United States? Is there such a thing as an international credit report?

Generally, it’s a clean slate from country to country, however in the current economic climate, no credit can be just as confining as bad credit. Also, depending on your age, some banks, landlords, etc., might be suspicious if you apply for credit/housing and have nothing on your history to report.
