Credit cards?

ok so my friend has a bank of america credit card that is helping him building up credit, he wants to add her husband to the account so that he can also get a credit car because he doesnt have one and he needs to build credit. Is this a good idea for her to add him to the account? would he get a credit history also? would he get offers of new credit cards if he is linked to hers? or should he get a separate account?

Being added as an authorized user will help someone get a good payment history. Once it is good enough they will start to receive their own credit offers where they can apply for their own cards and be removed from the other person account or remain. I would say that it depends on the situation. If it is someone you trust or are married to, I see no problem having one account where both people are on it together.

If they are trying to build up their credit they should have separate cards. If not one will only be a cosigner.

He will have to get a separate account so he can build his own credit. He can also get his wife to co-sign the application which will make it easier to get approved for a card and he’ll still build his own credit. Her getting him a card will not do any good. The account is still the wife’s responsibility. Tell him about the site below because it has some articles about building credit and managing credit cards. It may help him out!
